ABOUT

Rachelle Netland is a Minnesota-based studio artist known for her emotive, whimsical abstract paintings. Guided by a spirit of experimentation, her work evolves through intuitive mark-making and material exploration. Recurring themes of flora, fauna, weather phenomena, and a sense of place in the landscape emerge throughout her large-scale acrylic compositions, which radiate color, movement, and vitality.

Rachelle holds a B.S. in Mass Communications and a B.F.A. in
2D Studies from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. She earned her M.F.A. in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2022.

Her artwork is included in public and private collections across the United States and France, featured in both academic and residential settings. She works out of a historic former casket-making building in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, where she is a member of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association.

Outside the studio, Rachelle enjoys traveling and tending to her perennial gardens at her rural countryside home, which she shares with her husband, twin daughters and two dogs.
