Unknown-1 2.jpeg

Rachelle Netland is a Minnesota-based studio artist recognized for her emotive and vibrant abstract paintings. Her creative process is guided by a spirit of experimentation, with intuitive mark-making and material exploration allowing each piece to unfold into its own distinct visual language. Working primarily in large-scale acrylic compositions, Netland’s work radiates color, movement, and vitality. Recurring themes of flora, fauna, weather phenomena, and a strong sense of place within the landscape consistently emerge, reflecting her deep connection to the natural world and the environments she inhabits.

Rachelle holds a B.S. in Mass Communications and a B.F.A. in 2D Studies from St. Cloud State University, and earned her M.F.A. in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2022.

Her artwork is included in public and private collections throughout the United States and France, and has been featured in both academic and residential settings. She works out of a historic former casket-making building in the dynamic Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, where she is an active member of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association.

Outside the studio, she draws inspiration from travel, the seasonal rhythms of her gardens, and the ever-changing Minnesota landscape. She lives in the rural countryside with her husband, twin daughters, and two beloved dogs, embracing a life deeply rooted in nature and creativity.
